Indian classical music, specifically Ragas brings together the season of Sharad together with Nakshatra and Saumya masa descriptions of Ramayana and Mahabharata.

The lunar year began with the month of Margashirsha (Anushasan Ch. 106 and 109) during Mahabharata times (5561 BCE).

Thus, Margashirsha was the month of flowers. captured BG 10:35, although 99% of translators had translated ‘Kusumakar’ as ‘Vasanta (which is not incorrect, however wrong in this context).

Just like Margashirsha coincided with the time of Sharad during Mahabharata, Chaitra coincided with Sharad during Ramayana times. Ayodhya 3:4

Naturally, proper calendrical calculations show that the month of Ashwin coincided with the Vasant season. Kishkindha 53:9

Sharad and Vasanta are described as filled with flowers, in Ramayana (Chaitra & Ashwin) and Mahabharata (Margashirsha). Beautifully captured by Shrimati Neelakshi Juvekar Ji in Raga Bahar. Note the words & seasons.
